29 October 2018

Last week at the construction site, the first of many deliveries of pre-cast concrete blocks for the Test Stand bunker was received at the Gallery Building (G02).

The bunker will consist of 578 concrete elements of different shapes and sizes, the first being the cryo-chicane, cast in-situ earlier this summer. Further concrete block deliveries are expected every morning until the end of the year (45 scheduled deliveries).

The casting of the beam line wall between Experimental Hall 2 (D03) and the Beam Line Gallery (E02) is now complete.

This week, reinforcement of the 2-meter thick slab for the high bay vault on top of the Target Station Monolith in the Target Building (D02) will proceed. There is approximately 12 200 m3 normal concrete and 2 200 m3 heavy concrete left to be delivered to the Target Buildings.

The MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) works in the Installation Gallery under the Experimental Hall 1 (D01) bottom slab have commenced. Access to the culverts is made via Lab Building 1 (D07).
