19 November 2018

This week at the construction site, the first part of the A2T (Accelerator to Target) vault will be cast in the Target Building (D02).

Works on the Monolith high bay vault continues, with the formwork now 50% complete. Casting of the 2-meter thick slab for the high bay vault will be done in 4 segments and is planned for the first quarter of 2019. After this is done, high bay steel works can commence by summer next year.

Piling and refill activities continue on the north side of the Utility, Transport & Admin areas. 31 steel core piles (each 25-28 meters long) will be installed here, with the first hitting the bedrock already this week.

E-buildings - Electrical commissioning is ongoing inside the buildings and metal cladding is still in progress on the outside. Piping proceeds along the north facade of the Beam Line Gallery (E02).

All the floors have been cast in the Logistic Center (F03) and gypsum works for the inner walls as well as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) works continue. External completion works are ongoing outside the Logistics building.

The Test Stand bunker block installation is continuing at a steady pace with deliveries of blocks almost every morning at the Gallery Building (G02).
