Last week on the construction site, vault works in the Target Building Utility area got underway and the first casting for the 4-metre-thick Accelerator-to-Target (A2T) tunnel walls was completed.
Concrete works began for the D08 lab building, where blinding has been cast and reinforcement is being laid in place. The first base slab casting is planned for mid-October. Tunnel wall reinforcement continues in A2T.
Base slab expansion for the instrument halls D01 and D03 continues at a steady pace. Some 40 slab casting sessions remain on each side before the very last bottom slab is cast in April 2019.
Superstructure work for the Logistics Building (F03) proceeds with installations of sandwich panels for the facades. Casting of concrete floors inside the building is scheduled to begin mid-October. F03 is a 2.000 m2 building that will be used for shipping, receiving and storing of goods to and from ESS.
