10 December 2018

Last week at the construction site, the first blinding for the base slab was cast for the Transport Hall in the Target Building (D02). Steelcore piling is completed in the Transport Hall, and now continues in the Admin area.

Reinforcement of the Monolith high bay vault continues, with high bay works projected for completion towards summer next year and steel structure superstructure works to follow.

Drainage pipes on the southeast side of the E-buildings is largely completed and these works will continue on the other side of the building. Backfill of process pipes from the Central Utility Building (CUB) (H01) to the E-buildings is ongoing. Backfill around the basement level of D08 lab building (Experimental Hall 1) will commence at the beginning of next year.

Metal cladding on the E-building facades continues, and on the inside MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and internal finishes are progressing. Test and commissioning of several systems is in progress in preparation for sectional handover of the Experimental Hall 3 (E01) hall and parallel access to the Beam Line Gallery (E02) towards the end of summer next year.

Crane installation is ongoing for Lab 3A, Experimental Hall 3 (E03), and in early 2019 the installation of a large overhead crane in E01 (Experimental Hall 3) is scheduled.
