Target
Work on the two remaining pillars on each side of the Accelerator to Target (A2T) is starting up with form work and reinforcement. All four pillars are subject to casting at the end of January. Reinforcement continues for the tunnel vault in A2T, as well as for the Monolith High Bay slab, and two slabs for Experimental Hall 1, close to the Monolith/Target bunker, will be cast this week. The base slab in the Transport Hall is also being cast this week, adding 142 m3 of concrete to the Target.
Facades and interior works continue for Experimental Hall 3 and adjacent Lab Buildings, and the girder/beams for the large overhead crane in the building will soon be delivered to site. The crane installation will take approximately five weeks.
Accelerator
Installation of the radio frequency power components in the Klystron Gallery continues, including waveguides and stub configurations.
General
Last week on the construction site, casting of the foundation slabs for two of the Campus Buildings continued, with 18 slabs now completed.
Interior fittings and installations are ongoing in the weather-tight structurally completed Logistics Building. Sectional handover to ESS is scheduled for August 2019.
