Target

The very last high bay slab for the Monolith was cast last week. This casting also included an edge beam. The first high bay castings in the Utility area, as well as for the Active Cell Process Area, are planned for next week. Full-height walls are under construction in the Technical Gallery, and the high bay vault will follow next month. The first stage of the bunker slab has been cast, and the second stage will be completed by the end of next week.

The superstructure erection of the Substation Building has begun.

Accelerator

Six components for the cryogenic distribution line in the tunnel, including valve boxes for the elliptical part of the Linac, have arrived and are currently being installed on supports anchored to the floor in the tunnel.

In Test Stand 2, ESS engineers have been performing tests of the RF circulators, connecting them to the Ampegon moderator and CPI klystron. Inside the bunker, preparations are ongoing to connect and test the medium beta cryomodule later this summer. Steel structure erection continues throughout the Gallery. Above the row of racks (installation cupboards - almost 1 000 individual units in total) there will be a large steel structure for cable ladders and various installations.

General

Fitting of interior floors in the Central Utility Building is ongoing. The central parts of the ground level floor is subject to pipe refill and final levelling. Reinforcement is ongoing for the process area on the basement level of the Waste Building, with the first casting planned for the end of next week. This slab is 700 mm thick. Excavation works continue on the ground level of the building.
