ESS is steadily advancing toward scientific operations. By the end of 2024, the project successfully completed most of its planned activities and milestones, even accelerating progress in some areas. Several instruments are being prepared for their "First Neutrons”. ESS remains on track to fulfil its mission of delivering the world’s most powerful accelerator-driven neutron source for the neutron user community.
