On 20 September, come and join an exciting tour of ESS! Learn about neutron science and its applications in society from the people behind the facility’s science and technology.
ESS is proud to once again open its doors to visitors as part of the annual Lund Culture Night (Kulturnatten). This is a special opportunity to discover first-hand the fascinating world of neutrons, what spallation is all about, and see how ESS will contribute to science. It will be a visit filled with interesting facts and fascinating insights from enthusiastic ESS staff.
Visitors will start the tour with a short bus ride around the facility and then be guided on a walk through one of the large instrument halls where cutting-edge research will be carried out. From the bus, visitors will see the length of the linear accelerator, get an idea of the size of the huge halls where science will take place and see the offices and workshops where the researchers and staff work. On foot, they will get up close to some of the unique instruments that are now being completed to be used by scientists from around the world.
Each tour takes about one hour and will run all day between 10:00 and 16:00, with tours in English and Swedish.
